Weight gain during and after the Menopause

Question:-

Help! I am 56 and had my last period last May and they were quite erratic before that for over 2 years. I am, however, putting on weight, especially around my middle and lack energy. Any advice on how to cope with the weight as I cannot fit into many of my clothes and hate my current appearance

Reply:-

After the menopause when oestrogen & progesterone are low or absent weight gain is one of the first things that women noticed known as the”middle-aged spread”  this is due to a slower metabolism. Be positive, check your  body mass index,   decide how much weight you want to loose, each a well balanced but reduced calorie diet incorporating  regular daily exercise, even try smaller more frequent meals to keep blood sugars steady,  burning more calories

Check out the Menopause diet and Blood Group Diet a well as vitamin & mineral  supplements on last posts, all help with menopausal weight gain.
