Vaginal changes in the menopause.
Question:- I am 41 and have never had children. Since January 08 I have had 3 periods and keep getting hot flushes on and off. I assume that this is the start of the menopause. I am curious to know if it is normal to feel a bit depressed about the menopause. I never wanted children (probably because I have always worked with them), but now I feel very sad that the option will no longer be there for me. Also, is it normal for the vagina to become loose around the time of menopause, our sex life is suffering as a result but that I am getting old and for no reason feel angry and tearful a lot of the time. Are there any natural remedies I can try to perk me up!!
Reply:- During and after the menopause the walls of the become thinner, smoother, drier and less elastic. Lubrication, the first signs of arousal in a younger women are droplets on the vagina wall giving its natural lubrication, falling levels of oestrogen mean less lubrication.
Have a positive attitude, read about the changes that are taking place and discuss and inform your partner about your needs, – extra lubrication, regular sex helps prevent dryness, maintains genital health
A well balanced diet, high in minerals – Zinc, good sources are oysters herrings and sardines, include Vitamin B And Niacin, along with seeds and nuts in your daily foods
Don’t be depressed. Enjoy
