Supplements …How many

Question:-Could someone help, please. For the last seven and a half years I have been taking HRT (oestrogen only). I decided, owing to the breast cancer risk, compounded by a close relative who has had the disease, to wean myself off of it. My doctor also agreed I should start thinking about coming off of it and thinks weaning is a good idea but also suggests I take something like Menapace to minimise any symptoms I may get after I have ceased the HRT.

My query is, I am already taking several supplements and am worried taking Menapace could be overloading my body. The supplements I am taking are: Spirulina (for a thyroid which, in the recent past, has been diagnosed as slightly underactive); Lecithin, to maintain healthy cholesterol level as the last time mine was checked it was a little on the high side (5.4) and Glucosamine for healthy joints.

My diet is fairly healthy – plenty of fruit, salads, fish, chicken and a small amount of red meat, as well as nuts and seeds. I do not, as a rule, eat convenience food. I have a smoothie made with soya milk most evenings. The only thing I know I should do is drink a lot more water.

Reply:- Having a well balanced diet along with supplements it is necessary to check you are not overloading your system with too many nutrients …check each product for RDA (recommended daily allowance)

If taking any medication from your GP check first that all your supplements are compatible.
