Seasonal Foods for May/The Best Of British !

This is the month for Asparagus and New potatoes

 Asparagus, depending on the weather has its first picking  in  May when he spears are tender and succulent. Check out vegetables information

How to prepare :-to bring out the true flavour roast in the oven with olive oil and cracked black pepper,

Steamed, served with shavings of  Parmesan cheese, or rolled in ham and served with soft boiled eggs using the spears as soldiers

Jersey Royals are abundant from May into June,  ideally served with Asparagus and a knob of butter

Herbs can be added to brighten & give extra flavour to meals.

Sardines  Mackerel and Crabs  fresh from Cornwall and contain essential Omega oils for a balanced & healthy diet.
