Question-: I had a complete hysterectomy when i was twenty five due to big emergency ,have been on H,R,T since .Fourteen months ago i had a total thyroidectomy and have been left with constant low calcium , I am on huge amounts of calcium tablets and vit D , now i have really painful joints and my fingers have these hard painful lumps on . Can any one help ? i am thirty nine years old and feel about seventy .

Reply-:  treatment may include pain and ant inflammatory medications, plus supplements such as glucosamine and/or chondroitin.  For another type of dietary supplementation, it should be noted that fish oils have been shown to have some anti-inflammation properties. Moreover, increasing the dietary fish intake and/or fish oil capsules (omega 3 capsules) can sometimes reduce the inflammation.
