Heavy periods and weight gain
Question-:I’m 35 and found out that I was pre menopausal just after my 30 th birthday. Once I came of the pill and was sterilized my symptoms eased up a little. For the past 6 months my periods are closer together about 26 days and are heavier, I can no longer use Tampax. I’ve had a scan there is no fibroids or anything. Reading articles this is to the uterus getting larger? Is this true, and I’ve never been pregnant.
Also I find it really hard to lose weight when all my life I’ve was skinny
Reply-: The uterus can become bulky even not have had a child, the lining thickens, sterilization may also result in heavy periods
Your Dr or Consultant should be keeping an eye so that you do not become anaemic, ensure your diet is rich in Iron
Weight may be hormonal but have you had a Thyroid Function done, a simple blood test, to exclude an under active Thyroid gland as this causes imbalance of hormones and weight gain.
