I am 52 years old and for the last two years have had heavy periods lasting for a long time then nothing for a while then sometimes a peroid with hardly anything and then back to heavy periods again. I have had cystitis several times and also quite a few urinary infections which resulted in antibiotics. I have started using Replens and find using this seems to help with the vaginal dryness. I take cranberry tablets also. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I had a hysterectomy age 30, in June 1989. I had my ovaries removed in Jan 2004. I hve been having Menopausal symptoms and my Dr said i would allready be through the Menopuase because i have no Ovaries, but a blood test showed i have not reached Menopause yet. Is this right ?

For the past 18 my periods have been hit & miss & i've not had 1 now for 4 months.I am 46 years old. I have had a test done at my GP's my hormone levels are high so i know i am on the menapause. The question i'd like to ask is it normal to break out in spots my face is breaking out in them & they are very sore. I have stopped smoking aswel & not had a cigarette now for 6 weeks i thought the stopping smoking may have something to do with the spots because it was around 6 weeks ago i started with these spots. If it is the menapause thats causing them could anyone advise me what i could use to get rid of them please. Thanks.

I had a hysterectomy 7 years ago leaving both my ovaries, I am experiencing dryness and painful intercourse and in particular very tender boobs. I am 48 and generally healthy - would love to know how I can overcome these issues! thanks

I am 53 years old and have been on the Depo injection for approx 2 years and the pill before that, therefore I have not had a period for approx 5-6 years. My doctor would now like me to come off the Depo injection because after 2 blood test she says that my hormone levels are high but she cannot guarantee that I won't get pregnant. I am quite happy on this and blood pressure and everything are all OK everytime I visit the doctors. Please can you give me any advice as to whether I can carry on with this injection for at least another year. I look forward to hearing from you . Regards.

I am definitely post-menopausal (3 years without a period) but over the last few days am having period like symptoms ie tender nipples, ache in lower abdomen and back and very slight blood loss (not red) Is this normal after such a long time?

Not sure if anyone can answer this for me but perhaps someone might be able to offer some suggestions where I can get some help with my problem.

I had an early menopause at 39 and when the sweats and flushes hit me so badly I was seriously hampered by them I went onto HRT. It didn't stop all the problems such as bleeding and I did have to change several times. I also had extremely heavy bleeding, (one a no bleed preparation), and ended up having a hysterectomy.

I've just come off the HRT I've been on since the hysterectomy and have all sorts of symptoms. Clearly having had Oestrogen in my system for so long means my body is going to miss it but what effect is this going to have on me long-term? How long should I suffer these problems such as dry vagina - even when sitting eating a meal I can feel it dry and chafing on my underwear and even a sort of itch. My skin has become spotty and dry and my hair is just awful. I have aching joints and my temperature is all over the place.
Hope someone can help.
